Objective

Design and develop an intuitive platform that allows users to discover, explore, and book events happening across California, including seasonal festivals, concerts, conferences, and local community activities.

Target Audience

California residents looking for entertainment and educational opportunities.
Tourists seeking local events and experiences.
Event organizers aiming to promote and manage their events.

Research & Discovery

Conducted user research through interviews and surveys with potential users to identify pain points in existing event discovery platforms.

Created personas to define the target audience, such as:

Adventure Seeker Anna: Loves discovering outdoor festivals and concerts.

Family Planner Frank: Seeks kid-friendly and seasonal activities.

Analyzed competitor platforms like Eventbrite and Meetup to identify gaps and areas for innovation.

UX & UI Design

Developed user flows to map out event discovery, booking, and ticket purchasing processes.

Created low-fidelity wireframes to iterate and gather feedback quickly.

Designed high-fidelity UI mockups emphasizing accessibility and a clean interface with an intuitive search and filter system.

Defined a design system to ensure consistency across platforms, including:

Color palette inspired by California’s natural beauty.

Typography that ensures readability across devices.

Reusable UI components for faster iteration.

Testing & Quality Assurance

Conducted usability testing with real users to identify pain points and areas for improvement.

Iterated on the design based on feedback to refine event discovery, booking, and payment flows.

Performed unit and integration testing to validate that APIs and UI components worked as expected.

Ensured mobile responsiveness by testing across different devices and screen sizes.

Launch & Post-Launch Optimization

Monitored user analytics post-launch to identify drop-off points and improve the user experience iteratively.

Introduced personalized recommendations based on user preferences.

Deployed the platform on AWS EC2 and configured a CDN to ensure fast content delivery.

Monitored server performance and implemented security protocols to protect user data.
