“I couldn’t be more happy, I couldn’t be more exhausted, Jo sapped every last bit of energy out of me. There couldn’t be a better way for me to finish the season. I really enjoyed every minute of being here, see you next year.” Federer said
Federer marked the 100th final of his career with his 70th title and an unprecedented sixth at this event, beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3.
“I have had many attempts trying to win Paris Bercy, and for some reason, I wasn’t able to win it earlier. But this one obviously feels great and it’s a special victory. I have had some really tough losses this year, but I kept believing that still the year wasn’t over, I can still finish this year on a high, which that proves to be the case. Now I still have a massive highlight coming up in a week’s time.”
Roger Federer finally clinched his first Paris Masters crown in straight sets 6-1 7-6 victory over Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
“It’s great to win at home once again. It was a perfect match for me and now I have big hopes for Paris and London this month.” Roger Federer
“I was just trying to put in a good match and get to the French Open final, which I’m obviously happy I was able to do. It almost feels like I’ve won the tournament, which is not the case.” Roger Federer
“I think I played well but he played really well at the important moments. I congratulate him for a great performance. We were, I think, part of a very good match.” Novak Djokovic
Federer, chasing a 17th Grand Slam, beats Djokovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7-5).
Roger Federer defeated home favourite Gael Monfils in straight sets 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7-3) to tee up a mouth-watering semi-final against Novak Djokovic at the French Open 2011.
“He showed all his qualities in the third set and was a bit unlucky, I am super happy because I knew after he beat Tsonga, when he really dominated in the last two sets, what the danger was.” Federer
Roger Federer beat Stanislas Wawrinka with a 6-3 6-2 7-5.
“I’m very happy, really, I thought that it would have been a lot more difficult. The first set was the key. That gave me confidence and it made him doubt his game plan.” Roger Federer
Third seed Roger Federer brushed aside Janko Tipsarevic 6-1 6-4 6-3.
“It’s so difficult to come out and play on a big court when you are not used to it, I’m playing here for the 12th year and I’m very experienced.” Federer said.
“To play against Roger is an incredible experience. I’ll never forget it and it will be great memories.” Maxime Teixeira
“He really got into the match, especially in the second set. But I was able to mix it up well and just keep him on his toes. I’ve been in so many quarterfinals, in this situation so many times before, that I have the experience and I have the game to be tricky for him.” said Federer
“Roger always had an answer today, He was just too good for me. Roger is always the same – you know he can win this tournament.” said Wawrinka
