Hafeez is the Man of the Match “I really worked hard over the last couple of days and it worked for me. My batting form came back at the right time and I hope to carry it on.”

Afridi: “This is a great gift to give back to the nation on Pakistan Day. We tried to stick to our plans and the boys have done a great job doing that. Kamran and Hafeez did really well. Personally I just tried to maintain line and length.”

Sammy: “Definitely not enough runs on the board .. We didn’t counter the bowling well, and fell well short. We lost wickets in clusters in spin through the tournament, and today was no different.”

Novak Djokovic cemented his year with a superb 4-6 6-3 6-2 victory over world No. 1 Rafael Nadal in the final of the Masters Series event at Indian Wells on Sunday.

“I thought our batting effort was very ordinary, We gave ourselves a sniff with the ball but we couldn’t get there. It was a a lot better wicket than 177, that’s for sure.”  said Ponting.

“We made some good plans against them and the boys stuck to those plans very well, I think the way Umar Gul bowled was great. He’s worked very hard with Waqar Younis (coach) and the results are there in front of you.” said Afridi

Pakistan ended Australia’s 34-match unbeaten run at World Cups with a tense four-wicket victory in Colombo to secure top spot in Group A.

Bagai: “Very very disappointing loss for us. We did a great job after losing one of our better bowlers. Our batting worries continue.”

Afridi: “Batting first was a good decision but the shot selections weren’t good. It;s a good wake-up call for us.”

Sangakkara: “Unfortunately, Pakistan played very well. Younis and Misbah kept picking singles well, but we did well to drag it back to 270. We got to keep going on – it is a long tournament and lot of games to win.”

Shahid Afridi took five wickets as Pakistan completed a easy 205-run World Cup win over Kenya in Hambantota (Sri lanka).

“We are playing Pakistan after a long time. It’s a difficult situation for us. The batting .. I don’t know .. we didn’t go for the score. We will try to encourage the boys it doesn;t matter, go for the score.” Kamande

“We should be more positive in the batting. It was a slow track but we should have started more positively. The next game, we will come harder. It was good to see Shoaib Akthar bowl really well.” Afridi

Umar Akmal is the Man of the Match: “I have played this kind of knock after a long time. There is always pressure, so you can’t take any additional pressure on yourself. I am enjoying my fielding, been training well. I will take this form in the upcoming games.”
