Ever feel lost or lonely from the depth of your soul …

Yara seeli seeli

Yeh kia jaga hai

Suniyo ji araj mariho

Aye dil-e-nadaan

Glorious Ghazals

Literarily speaking ghazal means “to converse with the beloved”

Musically speaking a ghazal is an ancient form of persian/urdu poetry, composed of rhyming couplets and a refrain .. often on the topic of (but not limited t)  love/lost love/unattainable love set to relatively simple music and (ideally) to be sung by those with magnificant vocal powers …

One of the purest form of  expression, its all about translating depth and complexity of emotions into verse …

some of my all time favorites …

Anjumann anjumann shanaasai

Dasht-E-Tanhai mein

Dekh tau dil ke jaan se

Ek bas tu hi nahin

Honton pe kabhi unke

Mein ne rooka bhi nahin

Mujh se peli si mohabbat

kab mera nasheman

tu ne buut-e-harjai aisi

Roger Federer finally ended Rafael Nadal’s superb run on clay

“I don’t think he’s going to take any damage away from this,” said Federer. “I’m sure he’s going to be rock solid in Paris again.”

Nadal insisted: “Playing four hours was not a problem for today. Roger was much better than me and deserved to win.”

“I thought I took all the right decisions today and in the end it looked pretty comfortable so it was a perfect win for me,” Federer said afterwards.

“I’m very, very happy that I stayed positive and I got the win I needed badly because I’ve had some rather bad losses this year. It’s very satisfying.”

 Madrid Open final clash 2009

“Playing Nadal anywhere is a challenge, especially on clay. The extra factor here is that this is in Spain,” said Federer.

“This has never happened before. I’m excited to play him. We’ve not played so often (this year), the Australian Open was the last time. Now we are on clay, his surface. We’ll see what happens.”
